The boys are talking....a lot.
The other morning when I was getting dressed for the pool, meaning I just had on a cover up, Beckett said, "mommy looks pretty." Ahhhhh! Love him!!! Beckett is so observant. Always wanting an answer. "Where are we going, What's it doing?" If I happen to walk in on him while he is getting into mischief, I'll ask him what's he doing. To which he replies, "oh nothing." Beckett speaks so well and so clearly. Sometimes he reminds me of a little adult, that still wears diapers ;) But seriously the way his mind works amazes me. The other day when I told him that we were going to the lake, I asked him if he wanted to ski. Without missing a beat he said, "nooooooo I'm too little." I worked all day today and when I got home he said, "I missed you!" And then preceded to tell me, "my tummy hurts, I need apple juice for just a minute, ok?"
And sweet Blake. Finally talking;) if I leave the room he will say, "I go with me." He says, "oh man," at the most appropriate times. And it makes me laugh out loud. Blake loves to sing. He will break into song at the most random times. His favorites are: Rain Rain Go Away and ABC's. He says, "hold you, hold you" all the time. He's always saying "watch this." Or "I play golf, for minute, k?"
It's still very hard to understand him at times, and we made the decision about two months ago to put him in speech therapy. I am not worried at all about his speech delays as he had the odds stacked against him. He was born with a very slight hearing deficit. He was tongue tied for the first two years of his life, (his frenulum was clipped right before his second birthday) and he had to get tubes put in each ear. So really, he is playing catch up. Imagine not being able to hear that well AND not being able to move your tongue. Speech is helping....and I couldn't be more proud of my baby :)
Probably the thing I love the most though is the fact that they talk TO each other:) They make each other giggle and laugh all the time.
