Saying Goodbye

Yesterday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze, almost as if it were a whisper on your skin. And so we decided that it was time to bury the Bear. We buried her at my parent's house underneath a large tree that provides shade, but still allows the afternoon sun to shine down and warm the earth. I was certainly sad, but truly I was so happy to have her HOME, back where she belongs. And so keeping with tradition, we then went out to dinner with my parents and toasted to her life. BLESS THE BEAR!

And if anyone was following the Baylor Bears Men's Basketball team, they didn't win the championship. However, for the first time in the history of the school, not only did they win a postseason game, they made it to the championship game of the NIT. And I have no doubt that Baylor was up in heaven, barking her ever loving head off......Go Bears!

  1. Wendy, I will pray that you and all your girlfriends can only say good things about each other. Please forward the e-mail I sent you to each of them and try to remember what it is about every time you are tempted to say an unkind word.
I, as well am very happy that The Bear is back home. Just knowing she is there gives me an uncanny sense of security. Remember the Bevin's story with Baylor? Who would have ever thought we would ever have so many animals, much less our own pet cementery? It's so nice to go back there and think of all the happy times we've had together. Honey, every time I watch the video of Baylor it makes me cry. She was soooo very lucky to have you as her parents. Although the pain is deep, the joys were many. I'm sad when you and Chris are hurting and wish I could take the pain away. Indeed, Bless The Bear!!!!
